It shocked and horrified me to sit by and listen to top abortion doctors talk about using ultrasound to flip a baby to a feet-first position to pull out of the mother intact and alive, or another laugh about buying a six-figure “Lamborghini” with the money she made from selling the babies they killed.
Once I had completed the investigation, I went to law enforcement to report the evidence we uncovered and seek justice for the victims.
Then I started releasing the undercover videos so that the public could know the truth about the taxpayer-funded abortion industry.
I thought that, surely, these graphic and revolting videos would prompt the justice system to investigate and prosecute Planned Parenthood.
Imagine my surprise when instead, Planned Parenthood’s friends in the California justice system decided to prosecute me.
On April 5, 2016, I was taking out my kitchen garbage when, suddenly, eleven heavily armed California DOJ agents, all dressed in tactical gear piled out of a large van and ransacked my home.
They were sent by then CA Attorney General Kamala Harris.
Fortunately, I was able to reach my attorney Peter Breen at the Thomas More Society, but during our conversation, an agent forced me to hang up and hand over my phone.
They tore my small apartment apart, they took my videos, computers, and other belongings away as “evidence,” but left alone the stack of invoices for baby body parts from Planned Parenthood’s business partners.
Undercover video recording is legal and widely practiced by journalists in California and elsewhere. I was scrupulous to follow the law and record my videos only in places of public accommodation—you can’t necessarily say the same thing about some other California news outlets.
Moreover, California protects the recording of even a private conversation if your intention is to gather evidence of violent crimes. And local southern California law enforcement actually used my evidence to secure an admission of guilt from two companies for illegally selling body parts from the local Planned Parenthood and shut them down.
Yet I became the first and only journalist ever to be criminally prosecuted for it under California’s video recording law, at the same time that Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation (NAF) were pursuing federal lawsuits to retaliate against me.
Kamala Harris and the abortion industry want to put me behind bars for exposing their heinous acts.
Make no mistake, Kamala Harris would like nothing more than to silence every single pro-life advocate in the county and give Planned Parenthood the ability to perform unlimited abortions and have taxpayers foot the bill.
You see, no other journalist has ever been prosecuted under this 60-year-old law for audio or video recordings that have been taken while undercover.
But because of Kamala Harris’ raid I’m still facing 9 felony charges in California criminal court, while I’m also defending against federal lawsuits filed by NAF and Planned Parenthood.
Now, Planned Parenthood is demanding that I pay $15 million for their attorney’s fees with almost zero evidence and no detailed contemporaneous time sheets to back up their claims.
It is truly stunning the lengths the abortion industry will go to bankrupt and crush anyone who opposes them.
But, with your help, we’re counter-attacking…
…and the war is far from over.
I’m fighting back with a landmark federal civil rights lawsuit against Kamala Harris, CA AG Xavier Becerra, Planned Parenthood and the State of California for targeting my speech.
We’ve also filed a defamation lawsuit against Planned Parenthood for their slanderous and libelous lies about my work.
Over the next 12 months these legal battles will cost an estimated 5 MILLION dollars.
If funds permit, we’ll also file a class action medical malpractice lawsuit for women who have suffered injuries owing to Planned Parenthood’s negligent acts and omissions we’ve found out.
Now we’ve just heard more bad news, as California’s Supreme Court has declined to hear our appeal to avert our having to defend a huge criminal jury trial which will likely happen next summer, 2021.
But we’ve also heard good news.  My undercover videos led to Texas’s defunding Planned Parenthood from its Medicaid program – a decision just upheld by the 5th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals!
