„Der Völkermord an Christen in der osmanischen Türkei dauerte 10 Jahre – von 1913 bis 1923 – und richtete sich gegen Armenier, Griechen, Assyrer und andere Christen. Sie führte zur Vernichtung von rund drei Millionen Menschen. Leider geht die türkische Aggression gegen die verbliebenen Armenier weiter.
Nach dem türkischen Mythos waren es eigentlich die „heimtückischen“ Armenier, die die Türken verfolgten; und die Türken handelten in Selbstverteidigung, um sich von mörderischen Armeniern zu befreien. Eine weit verbreitete türkische Behauptung lautet: „Sie haben es verdient.“
Die Lügen und die staatliche Propaganda, die die Opfer für ihre eigene Vernichtung verantwortlich machen, ermöglichen die anhaltende türkische Verfolgung der verbliebenen Armenier, einschließlich der Umwandlung ihrer Kirchen in Moscheen und der Ausgrabung armenischer Gräber und Kirchen durch Schatzsucher, die nach Gold schürfen.“ (…)
