„A former Egyptian government minister says the Muslim Brotherhood is using the deep web to raise funds for operations in the U.S. and possibly to purchase weapons. That’s according to the Egyptian weekly el-Fagr, which interviewed (Arabic link) former deputy interior minister Mohammad Nour el-Din.
El-Din said the Brotherhood uses those parts of the internet that don’t appear in search engines (Google, etc.) to fundraise. Much of this effort is via Bitcoin, a worldwide cryptocurrency and digital payment system.“ (…)
